Our Mission
Connecting people the natural world and cultivating a community
of environmental stewards working together to build a greener and healthier planet through advocacy, action and education.
Beginning as a small organization offering education in sustainable gardening,
Worthy Garden Club has grown to include the only professional observatory within Bend's city limits, a small-scale regenerative farm and native plant gardens that serve as classrooms for natural science education. We offer free or low-cost programs that educate our community on astronomy topics, dark sky practices, native pollinator conservation and sustainable food growing. Our employees serve on local boards as active advocates for these chosen causes, bringing about positive changes to maintain livability in the High Desert.

Through our volunteer program and management of Franklin's Corner Community Garden, we're able to connect with community members and other mission-aligned organizations in Central Oregon to contribute 300+ hours of community service work annually. This work includes removing invasive weed species, installing native pollinator gardens at local schools, performing native plant salvages on new construction sites and general advocacy of planet-forward lifestyle habits.

Our working community partners include the City of Bend, Deschutes Soil & Water Conservation District, Pollinator Pathway Bend, High Desert Food and Farm Alliance, Central Oregon Flower Collective, Bend Urban Gardens, Dark Sky Oregon and, of course, Worthy Brewing.
